Mission 2 - Culture

Process For this mission we had far more options with our choice of topic to outline what digital culture is. Having read through each of the topics, me and my group decided on choosing the topic of Digital Privacy.  Like the previous mission we started out by researching Digital Privacy and what it means. Once we had a definition we quickly found out that we had only scratched the surface of what Digital Privacy is. Our research led us to finding out that there are a lot of conspiracies and theories that are related to Digital Privacy. Some of these theories suggest that our devices such as Alexa and also Siri are listening to us at all times and that websites and apps are keeping track of our search history and using this to display advertisements that relate to us or are more relevant to us. We found out that this is because of one thing that everyone must agree to on each website they visit; cookies. Cookies are a piece of software that collect and remember your search history

Mission 1 - Creativity

Process Starting out on this mission we were required to choose between a number of topics that all fell under the heading of Creativity. as a group, we decided to pick the topic of Digital Audio. Once we were happy with the topic we chose we got straight to work. On the introdm.cdmonline.ie website we used the links provided as resources to help us figure out the best possible way to outline our research process and to demonstrate our findings on Digital Audio.  After reviewing each source we went with the idea of making a podcast about college life and our thoughts so far. Our main aim while making this podcast was for it to be opinionated but also to make something that could be enjoyed and is fun to listen to. Who Am I?

Introduction Hello all, my name is Seán Kavanagh and this is my blog. The reason for me making this blog is that this is a college assignment of sorts, mostly a way for me to share my thoughts and updates on one of my modules, specifically Intro To Digital Media. In this we learn about online media outlets and also how to keep our own data safe. I'll be doing this in the semester leading up to Christmas. So far this course is actually proving to be pretty interesting with the aid of the never ending enthusiasm of my lecturer, Shaun. of course this is far from being a bad thing as it makes the course interesting, fun to learn, and makes me look forward to coming in. About Me So as I have already mentioned my real name is Seán Kavanagh and not Kavo, however that is a nickname that I go by quite often and was given to me by a teacher I had way back in First Year of secondary school.
